Tender Notice and Invitation to Tender
The University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg invites suitable, qualified and experienced Contractors to tender for the construction of the New Student and Researcher Accommodation Facilities, including refurbishments and associated site works at the WITS Rural Facility, located on Orpen Road, Acornhoek, Bushbuck Ridge.

Eligibility and preferencing criteria are stated in the tender documents which may be downloaded from the University’s website:
http://www.wits.ac.za/about-wits/procurement/   from Monday, 28 August 2017 at 12h00. Only tenderers who have suitable experience and suitably qualified personnel in providing similar services to those that are required are eligible to submit tenders.

It is estimated that tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 7GB or higher.

Tenderers must undertake to subcontract a minimum of 30% to an exempted micro enterprise (EME) or qualifying small business enterprise (QSE) as defined in the Preferential Procurement Regulations 2017.

A compulsory clarification meeting will be held for all tenderers who wish to participate in the tendering process. Tenderers that attended the previous compulsory clarification meeting held on Thursday, 13 July 2017 at 13h00 at Wits Rural Facility need not attend again.

The closing time for receipt of tenders is on Thursday, 28 September 2017 at 12h00. No telegraphic, telephonic, telex, facsimile, e-mail and late tenders will be accepted.

Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that is supplied, alternative tenders are not permitted.
