The University of Limpopo hereby invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors, to
construct a new library extension building at the Turfloop Campus of the University of Limpopo, inclusive of
associated site works as required, located on the corner of R71 Tzaneen Road and University Street, Mankweng
Township, Polokwane, in Limpopo.
Contracts will be based on the JBCC Edition 6.2 – May 2018.
Eligibility and preferencing criteria are stated in the tender document, tenderers must be registered with the
CIDB and it is estimated that tenderers must have a CIDB contractor grading of 8GB or higher or potentially
emerging enterprises who satisfy the criteria stated in the tender data must have a CIDB contractor grading of
7GBPE or higher.
Tenderers are advised that two tenders namely “Library Extension Building” and “Earth Sciences Building are
being advertised simultaneously.
Tenderers are welcome to submit tenders for either one or both buildings, provided tenderers
meet all tender criteria. Based on the tender evaluation process, there exists the possibility that one tenderer
may be appointed for both tenders.
The Employer is not bound to accept the lowest tender or portion of any tender and reserves the right to waive
any informality in tenders received as his interests may dictate nor is he required to give reasons for selecting
one tender in favour of another.
Tender documents will be published and available for download from the University’s website at
http://www.ul.ac.za as from Sunday, 31 July 2022 at 12h00. A non-refundable tender deposit of R10 000.00
payable by EFT in favour of the Employer is required should the Tenderer decide to submit an offer.

Tender Notice and Invitation to Tender
An online briefing session will be held on Friday, 05th August 2022 at 11h00. For this session, an online meeting link
will be published on Employer’s website www.ul.ac.za.
The closing time for receipt of tenders is 12h00 on Friday, 26 August 2022.
Tenders are to be submitted online through the Online Tender Box at: www.sabeex.com. (Bidders must
ensure that tenders are uploaded timeously in order to avoid disappointments).
Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, facsimile, e-mail, physical and late tenders will not be accepted
Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that is issued and alternative tenders are not
permitted.
