Tender Notice and Invitation to Tender

The University of Mpumalanga invites tenders for the supply, installation and commissioning of specified electrical MV and LV reticulation network for the South Campus, University of Mpumalanga.

The contract will be based on the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract (Option B- Bills of Quantities)

It is estimated that tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 5EP or higher.

Only tenderers who demonstrate suitable experience and have suitably qualified personnel and comply with the criteria stated in the Tender Data are eligible to submit tenders.

The pre-qualification criteria for preferential procurement are that only  tenderers who are B-BBEE status level 1,2,3 or 4 contributors may respond to this tender notice and invitation.

Only tenderers who undertake to subcontract a minimum of 30% of the contract value to an EME or QSE which is at least 51% owned by black people and operate from premises within the Mpumalanga provincial boundaries are eligible to submit tenders.

The closing time for receipt of tenders is 12h00  hrs on Tuesday 21 April 2020 Tuesday 19 May 2020. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, facsimile, e-mail and late tenders will not be accepted.

Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that is issued.

NOTE: DUE TO THE COUNTRYWIDE LOCKDOWN ANNOUNCED BY THE PRESIDENT ON 23 MARCH 2020, THE UNIVERSITY OF MPUMALANGA HAS MODIFIED THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS TENDER. THE FOLLOWING APPROACH HAS BEEN TAKEN:

1. THERE WILL BE NO COMPULSORY BRIEFING MEETING. INSTEAD, THE BRIEFING MATERIAL HAS BEEN PROVIDED ONLINE. TENDERERS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE BRIEFING MATERIALS, AND CONFIRM THEY HAVE TAKEN THIS INTO ACCOUNT AT THE END OF THE PRESENTATION. A PRINTOUT OF THE CONFIRMATION MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH THE TENDER SUBMISSION.

2. THE TENDER CLOSING DATE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 19 MAY 2020 TO ALLOW TENDERERS AMPLE TIME TO PREPARE TENDER SUBMISSIONS DURING HTE LOCKDOWN PERIOD TO 16 APRIL 2020. 

THE SUBMISSION OF ONLINE TENDER OFFERS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 12H00 ON WEDNESDAY 13 MAY 2020.
